What is Photosharing?

Photosharing involves uploading your photos to a web site service, then using tags and/or other strategies to organize your photos. Photos can be shared with a specific, invited group, or shared publically.

Explore Photosharing - Here are some quality Photocasts by and for teachers and students:

• Flick'r - one of the more well known photo sharing sites which uses tagging to categorize, find and share photos <www.flickr.com/>
• BubbleShare - create digital stories by sharing your photos, adding captions and more <www.bubbleshare.com/>
• iPhoto - Apple's software allows Mac users to make a variety of products with photos
• Shutterfly - explanation <www.shutterfly.com>
• Snapfish - Free online sharing, plus order prints and photo products <www.snapfish.com>
• www.picateers.com - Picateers is different. Upload your photos and let members of your school community purchase the photos or photoproducts as a school service AND fundraiser.
• Tabblo - another photo sharing tool, with print products available <app.tabblo.com/studio/>

Decide if Photosharing is right for you

Photosharing gives you the flexibility of sharing photos with others and getting printed photos and photoproducts made. As web-based services, one challenge in using these services with schools is navigating the variety of policies, standards and opinions about posting kids' photos on the web.
