2003 Theme: Down the River
As you can see by the web, we branched out to include lots of
water topics, instead of just rivers. Head in any direction that
interests your students.
Poetry, stories and illustrations are
all encouraged.
As a jumping off activity, you can send home the homework assignment
(below) to get kids talking to their parents about water topics
to lead into our Hoofbeats theme.

Hoofbeats Homework Assignment
Read over the list of water topics. Talk with your parents about something
that you have experienced that relates to water.
Write a half page story about an event or
something important to you about water.
