Fall Theme: "Interaction" & "Community": Lifelong Guidelines & Lifeskills, Step to Respect, Classroom Agreements, CHAMPs, class procedures & routines, community structures & organizations

Focus Questions for Fall "Interactions" Theme:
1) We all have needs. What needs to people, animals, and plants have?
2) HOW do people and other living things get their needs met?
3) How do our actions, words, and thoughts effect the environment around us?
4) HOW are living things dependent? Interdependent? or Independent?

Focus Questions for Fall "Community" Theme:
1) What is a community?
2) How do people belong to a community?
3) How do communities solve problems?
4) How do communities change?
5) How do symbols help communication in communities?
6) How are LIFESKILLS demonstrated in communities?
7) Who are community helpers?
8) How does environment & geography influence a community's development?
9) What are some consequences of having strong or weak ties to a community?
10) What are some qualities of a healthy community?
Winter Theme: "Systems" & "Power"- Electrical Circuits, Body Systems, Civil Rights Movement, cursive
Spring Theme: "Change" - Heros (biography studies) / Wax Museum, Plant Growth & Development, Earthday Everyday
