How You Can Help
|
There's a lot going on in 3rd grade! Students produce more
than I can keep up with year round. There are weekly & monthly routines
as well as special activities from time to time which require parent support.
I have a Volunteer Basket in the room for those who want to walk in & help
with whatever is in the basket that needs attention. I love and encourage parent
support!
Please consider what you can do & let
me know.
- Be a Room Parent or Co-Room Parent!
- Checking/Grading your child's homework & helping them
better understand any gaps. Please initial at the top of their paper.
- Grading sets of papers at home or at school; I'll send a
key and a scoring rubric.
- Filing papers for Friday envelopes - come in anytime.
- Putting weekly papers into the Filing Envelopes - this generally
happens on Friday.
- Managing the book orders on a monthly basis - this can be
done electronically.
- Facilitate a small reading, writing, math, or science group
- we do Readers Workshop & Writers Workshop
- Assist students during class activities - the more the merrier;
please leave little ones at home or make arrangements.
- Being a chaperone and / or a driver for a field trip
- Helping organize or assist with class parties
- Assisting in the library on our check-out day - read a story
to them, pull books for a unit of study, check out books
- Collecting homework or past due work from students at the
beginning of class & checking it in
- Be a guest speaker or share your expertise related to what
we're studying
