These pages were created by Kirsten Haugen to provide practical support to teachers and students, with an empahsis on inclusive, project-based activities utilizing a range of technologies.

Kirsten is a freelance consultant for educational and assistive technology. She focuses on inclusive strategies for early learning, literacy and play. She has authored several articles and training pieces on technology and special needs for Child Care Information Exchange, and is a regular contributor to the World Forum on Early Care and Education. She is the co-author of "We Can Play," a free series of accessible play strategies, in English and Spanish, available from the Alliance for Technology Access. She also has authored titles in the Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters series from Don Johnston, Inc. Kirsten has worked in special education since the 1980s. She has presented popular seminars and workshops at TRLD and other conferences since 1995, the same time she began working in assistive technology at the Center for Accessible Technology, Berkeley, CA.

Kirsten lives in Eugene, Oregon, with her husband and two sons, who attend public schools in the Eugene 4J School District.
