KEY QUESTIONS At the end of this unit you should be able to answer the following questions: What are the major components of a healthy soil and how is soil different than rock, and how is it different than dirt? Where do the soils around the upper Willamette Valley area come from, and how are they formed? What purposes do soils have in our ecosystem and what value do they have to us?
