Activity 1: Natural resources are those products of the environment that humans require, interact with, or consume. These include air, water, minerals, plants, animals, etc.

Your task is to identify the Pacific Northwest region's primary natural resources. To accomplish this,begin with the links below and find additional sources of information on your own. Summarize below the information you find. Include the following information:

  • List the major natural resources in this area.
  • Describe how they are used by the general population.
  • What is the connection between each of the resources and your life? (Example: I use paper products daily which places demands on the availability of timber resources.)
