Use all the resources available to you including the internet and Churchill's library to locate as many different types of maps as possible. Remember the major map types include: general reference, navigational, thematic, and inventory. The links below may be helpful as well. Examine at least 2 different types of maps and write a brief description of each type to include:

  • Name of map type (ex: general reference)
  • Main use of the map type (ex: to show political boundaries)
  • Location found (ex: library atlas, National Geographic)
  • Special features of the map type (ex: colors to indicate habitat types)
  • Map scale
