In this unit, students will learn about the soils beneath their feet. When this unit is completed, students will know what the components of soil are, and how soils are formed. Students will be able to recognize and classify local soil types. Students will also be familiar with the major threats to soil health in our area and be able to relate these issues to other subject covered in this class, including water quality, salmon, agriculture, and forest ecology. |
