This unit is designed to give the students an overview of Pacific Salmon. The focus will be on the history of salmonids, Native American fishing traditions, fish biology, ecology of salmon, human impacts on salmon populations, current political and economic issues related to salmon, and finally the future outlook for the species. Web lessons, field trips, lab activities, reading and writing assignments, guest speakers, discussions, and debates will all be used to accomplish the goals and objectives.
