Forest Ecology

Web Lesson #20

This activity is designed to celebrate Earth Week in a positive and constructive way. Start by reading the prologue to the book "Stuff, The Secret Lives of Everyday Things" and the article from the Register Guard about the history of Earth Day. Then take a good hard look at your lives as a "citizen of the world". Answer the following questions and submit below or in your folder:

1. What are the primary resources that you and your family use on a daily basis? (examples: paper, energy, water, etc.)

2. What are the ways that you and your family conserve resources right now? Be specific.

3. How could you and your family reduce your consumption of natural resources in the future? Again, be specific and reasonable and list at least 3 separate things your family could do.

4. Choose one of the things you listed in #3 above and create a step by step plan for how you could implement changes at home to reduce consumption.
