Pacific Northwest old growth forests are home to a variety of conifer and broadleaf tree species. To complete this assignment, choose 2 native conifers and 1 native broadleaf species from the list below and complete the following for each tree:

• list the common and scientific names
• physical description, include size, color and texture of bark, size and shape of leaf or needle
• distinguishing characteristics; how could you tell the difference between this tree and other common trees at a glance
• a common use for products from the tree or an interesting fact about it
