Botany /
Horticulture Lesson 2
|
To complete this lesson it will be necessary
to come into room C-8 and look at the seed catalog from Territorial
Seed Company. You will be able to choose the seeds that you would
like to plant in your 20 square foot garden plot. Consider the
following things as you make your choices:
- You have a $8 budget for seeds. (You can
maximize this by sharing seed packages with other
students.)
- Try to select vegetables and/or flowers that
have the best chance of maturing in the late spring or early in
the summer. Leaf crops are a good choice, i.e. lettuces, spinach,
arugula, peas, kale, radishes, etc.
- If you choose plants that mature later, we
will have to discuss possibilities for caring for these plants
into the summer.
Submit your list of seeds to me by Wednesday,
April 21. Include the name of the plant, the catalog number, the
quantity of seed, and the price.
