Tana shepard, Teacher

I am a teacher that believes in honoring all children by listening to them, knowing their interests and caring about their future. by listening to them you can get to know their dreams and stories to better teach them. By knowing their interests you can make their experience more relevant and expand upon those interests in the educational setting. caring about their futures is what teaching is all about.  I want to send all my students forward with skills for their future, such as a strong sense of self, good work ethic, and what it means to be part of a bigger whole. building community within our class is vital for all students to feel safe and accepted. When students feel like they are part of an accepting group they can do their best learning. When they feel safe in the learning environment, they tend to take more risks and show more of what they know. This is to truly know students.
