I have been teaching since 1998 almost entirely in elementary and the majority of it being in the lower grades.  When someone loves to learn like I do, teaching comes second nature by just being excited to know things.  It’s contagious!  I have gotten six year olds excited to learn about ancient Roman culture, just by making it fun at their learning level.  You incorporate art, food, video clips, fun building projects and cartoon books about the topic and wha-la, you can make almost anything interesting.  I have a deep love for many topics and I try to bring this into the classroom.  Science is one of those topics.  Science is fascinating and if you can bring that to your students, they will come away loving science!  I love making a difference in the lives of so many people.  Being a teacher does that for me.  I am lucky to have them around me, teaching me to remember to play, every day!
