Puppet Book Report
PUPPET BOOK REPORT
Project/Presentation Grading Requirements
Our final book report project will be an ‘At home’ due Wednesday, June 11! Students must choose an independent reading book with a character in mind to create a PUPPET! (Fiction books only!)
The puppet MUST represent the book content and/or the traits of the main character. For example, if a student chooses the book How to Eat Fried Worms, the puppet would be a boy. He could be holding a frying pan with worms in one hand, and possibly an orange crate in the other. His shirt may say something on it about courage or have a picture of the mini bike he is trying to win.
Puppets can be as creative as the student & family wants to be. Puppets can be made out of paper bags, socks, sticks, etc… This is a great project for talking with your child about character traits, and how different characters in stories exhibit a multitude of traits. Have fun creating your character puppet this month!
To MEET expectations for the Puppet book report, students must demonstrate all of the following criteria during book IN CLASS presentations. I suggest students practice their presentations at home before the in class experience to lower their anxiety levels. If your child needs extra support from me to complete this project, please let me know. Don't wait until the last week!
