Poison Hoops

Setup and Equipment:

• Six different colored hoops (set of five each)
• Students choose one hoop to stand in
• Hoops are scattered around gym floor

• Students may only move by using soft kicks to propel the hoop. They must always stay inside of hoop. If they move their feet outside of hoop, then they are frozen. [see below]
• The teacher chooses one color of hoops to be "poison".
• All of the students with that color hoop attempt to tag the other students by bumping the hoops that are not their color.
• When a student has their hoop tapped by a "poison hoop" they must stand frozen with both arm extended until a classmate who is not "frozen" or "it" touches their hand to free them.
• After one or two minutes, the teacher will chose another color of hoop to be the "poison hoops"
• Play continues until all students have had a turn being "it".
