Grinch

Setup and Equipment:

• Hula hoops, presents, basketballs for Grades 3,4,5
• Teams are lined up behind a hula hoopin front of each of the four walls in the gym
• The middle circle is filled with presents (simulated) or beanbags, etc.
• Each Team has a stuffed animal to carry or dribbles a basketball.
• Only the person with the basketball or stuffed animal may get presents. Only one present for each player.
• This game may also be done on scooters.

Rules:

• There are three chapters to this game.
• Chapter One (BAD Grinch Phase): On the signal to begin, the first player on each of the four teams runs to the Whos Village to the pile of “presents” and takes one present and puts it in their team's hula hoop. Then hand the basketball or stuffed animal to the next player on their team and the game continues.
• Chapter Two (REALLY BAD Grinch Phase): When all of the presents are gone. Teams may now get presents from the hula hoops of the other teams. You cannot stop others from taking your presents.
• Chapter Three (GOOD Grinch Phase):The object of this chapter is to be the first team to get all of the presents back to Whoville. Teams should sit down upon completion.
• This last chapter can be timed, so the presents have to be returned by the stroke of midnight. However, the Most Fun Wins!
