SUBJECT: Personal Resume (final draft)
Background
Last week you created a rough draft of a Personal Resume. This week, you will improve it and submit an error-free final draft.
Specifically, you will:
•Review my comments on your first draft
•Have a parent, teacher or supervisor review your first draft and make suggestions in terms of content and format (you will turn this in signed by the adult who reviewed it)
•And submit a final draft based on all feedback
Assignment (40 points for Final Draft)
Submit an error-free final draft of your resume.
Remember the required elements in your resume:
•Heading - Include:
◦Name
◦Street Address
◦City, State, Zip Code
◦Phone Number (including area code)
•Objective - Use one complete sentence stating your objective for this resume.
•Education - List your current high school and current grade level.
•Activities - Identify at least 2 activities you are involved in, either at school or outside of school.
•Personal Qualities - List 3-4 good things about yourself such as dependable, caring,or works well with others.
•Work Experience - Identify 2 paid or volunteer positions you have held. Include the name of the company or organization, date you held the position and a brief description of what you did there.
•References - Provide 2 adult references. Include complete addresses and phone numbers.

Formatting tip: You can try using the resume wizard available as a Microsoft Word template or use a similar format as the example.
What to Do:
Step 1:Review my comments from your corrected assignment (first draft). Make appropriate changes. These will be available in your work back folders by Wednesday 11/24.
Step 2: Print out this new draft and have a trusted adult review it. This may be a parent/guardian, supervisor,teacher or another adult (NOT a peer/student, please). Have them write on the document and indicate changes and improvements in terms of text/content AND format. Turn this in (hard copy to your folder).
Step 3: Make changes (based on feedback)as seem appropriate to you, proofread and submit your final draft (error-free)
Step 4: Turn in a printed copy of your final, error-free resume to your in-folder PLUS the edited copy by the adult of your choice.
Evaluation
Your resume will be evaluated on the following criteria:
•All required sections and elements are included and are complete (50%)
•Absence of any punctuation, grammar, or spelling errors (20%)
•Use of an appropriate and attractive format (30%)
