Course description

This is a beginning course in graphic design. Students will use Adobe's premiere graphics software - Illustrator and Photoshop CS5. During the first half of the course students will will focus of basic graphic design principles while they use Illustrator to explore typography, layout, advertising and logo design. The second half of the term is dedicated to Photoshop where students will learn basic photo manipulation tools and techniques as well as color correction, cropping, filters & adjustments, composite imaging, and photo restoration.

Assignments

First half - 6 weeks

Illustrator Tutorials 1-4

Work through Illustrator tutorials. Do the tutorials IN ORDER. You are expected to become proficient with the skills, tools and concepts which are presented in the tutorials. The tutorials are broken up into short units. Each unit has a quick and easy assignment which is designed for you to demonstrate proficiency with Illustrator.
