I began teaching in fall of 1999 at Howard Elementary school in 4j, and stayed there until this school year when I made the move to Gilham.  My brother, Allan Chinn, became principal of Howard this year, therefore I was not allowed to stay and teach there.  When I had the chance to come to Gilham and teach 5th grade, I welcomed the opportunity.  I have an amazing team to work with and I am very excited!

    At Howard I taught 4th and 5th grade for 9 years and physical education for 4 years.  

    I have a 6 year old daughter, Ellie, who is in first grade at howard.  We love working in our big backyard garden and baking cookies, which I enter in the lane county fair each year.  This year I had two honorable mentions!

    Sports have always been a huge part of my life growing up and I still love them.  I am a big oregon duck fan, and I enjoy playing volleyball, tennis, kickball, soccer, hiking, karate, dodgeball, downhill skiing and swimming.

    I’m a native to Eugene, and both my parents were teachers too.  If you were a student at North Eugene, you may have had my dad, Ray Chinn, as a teacher!
