Unicycle
Level One: On the Wall
- You do not get on a unicycle like it's a bike.
- The rider leans with back against wall and bike in front in position to mount.
- Pedals should be halfway up (and down).
- Step on the pedal closest to the wall and slowly push up.
- The seat will rise and move towards the wall, as the rider move hands wide against the wall to balance.
- While against the wall, the rider should roll back and forth and get used to balancing themselves.
- To dismount, practice taking a big step and catching the seat of the unicycle.
- Before learning to ride, you must be able to mount and dismount.
Level Two: Move Away from the Wall
- Sit deep on the seat.
- Keep feet on both pedals at all times.
- Pedal forward one revolution, then stop with feet still on pedals.
- Continue to add one revolution of the pedals, then stop and balance.
Level Two with Partners: Move Away from the Wall
- One person is on each side of the rider to help with balance.
- As the rider starts to feel the balance, speeding up will help.
- The rider's goal is to develop a smooth pedaling motion without stopping
Level Three: Push Yourself
- Get on the seat - balance
- Push off the wall and go as long as you can.
- If you start to wobble, pick up the speed of pedaling.
