off a 100 foot distance
- Students
jog the distance and count their steps
- Divide
100 by the number of steps taken
- 100
feet divided by 40 equals a stride length of 2.5 feet
Day 2
Pedometer Predictions:
Guess
and Check: Before beginning activites today
students will make predictions on how many steps they will take during the entire class period.
- How many steps for one lap around the school?
- How many steps during a game?
- How many steps total during class today?

Fanatical
Football:
- Split
Class into four teams so that teams are smaller and you can have two games
going.
- Two Teams
with different jersey colors.
- Team
A kicks off to Team B.
- Team
B attempts to move the ball to the opposing end zone.
- When
a player is tagged, they must stop and immediately become the new quarterback.
- The
quarterback cannot be rushed and cannot move more than three steps.
- Once
a pass is completed, the receiver can run with the ball until tagged.
- The
receiver immediately becomes the quarterback.
- If
team B scores, they immediately turn and kickoff.
- If
team A intercepts, the interceptor immediately becomes the quarterback.
- If
team B makes an incomplete pass, the member of team A closest to the ball
becomes the quarterback.
