Pot of Gold St. Patrick's Day Game
-
One container with beanbags in the middle of the gym. This is the Pot of Gold.
-
Four teams: Line up in front of each wall, with a hula hoop in front of each team.
- One player from each team is the "leprechuan" and may tag players on the other teams, only if they have a beanbag in their hand and are returning to their hula hoop "castle".
-
Each group will try to acquire as much "gold" from the "Pot-o-Gold" as possible and return it to their castle.
-
The students should go out one person on each team at a time, then try to acquire gold by taking only one bean bag at a time.
-
The taggers "leprechuans"
are not allowed to throw the tagging ball. They must have it in their hand when tagging.
-
If a student is tagged, they must bring the bean bag back to the "Pot-o-Gold" and return to their hula-hoop.
-
When they return to their "castle", give the next person on your team a high five and continue for the rest of the song.
-
After each team has five beanbags (gold bars) the game changes and players may acquire gold from the other castles.
-
Play for one-two minutes, then pick new leprachuans for each team.
