Leprechaun Jig Tag
Setup and Equipment:
Teach the Irish Jig:
— When you dance a jig, your footwork is the most important, with hand movements kept to a minimum. So keep your hands low, stomp those feet, and follow these easy instructions.
— Hop on your left foot once while lifting your right foot off the ground.
— Hop on your left foot again and bring your right foot behind your left foot.
— Put your weight on your right foot and lift your left foot.
— Hop once on your right foot.
— Now hop and alternate feet: Left, right, left, right.
— Now do the reverse: Hop left, right, left, right.
— Start over. You're dancing a jig!
Rules:
— Pick four people to be the taggers (Saints).
— Start the music and everyone else (the Leprechuans) scatter and try not to get tagged.
— A mat in front of each wall can be the base (castle) for the Leprechuans
Rules:
— If a Leprechuan is tagged, they must do the Irish Jig until one the other Leprechuans come and mirrors them while doing the Irish Jig.
— After doing the Irish Jig, give each other a high ten tag and return to the game.
— Pick new "its" (Saints) after a couple of minutes, and continue game.
