Greetings Parents!
- Science: Flashlights - We'll be making our flashlights in class
on Tuesday. Students should bring whatever they & their partners
have decided to use for a container & any other useful parts they
want like reflectors, handles, decorations.... I'll supply the batteries,
wires & bulbs, as well as some construction paper and tape.
- State Math Test begins this week: Tuesday & Thursday. Again, let's
get plenty of rest and a good breakfast with protein and healthy
carbs! We completed our first round of reading tests. By and large
they did a great job. About 20% of our class did not pass the test
this first time; hopefully, they'll get lots more reading time in
at home and focus more in class to help them pass the next go around
in April.
- Endangered Animal Projects: By the end of the week, students
should have completed all the paragraphs for their rough draft. We'll work
on the "Who's Helping" and "Conclusion" paragraphs in class. They'll
have time in class; however, if they don't finish it, it will become
homework over the weekend. They should have all their paragraphs
drafted in their Writer's Journal by the end of the week: Intro,
Description/Adaptations, Habitat, Why It's Endangered, Who's Helping, & Conclusion.
- Snuggle Down on Friday for Ms. Enbysk's last day -
WE HOPE! It
has been great to have her with us this term, and it will be sad
to see her go. If we earn enough points, she'll bring her humongous
cat, Tank in for a visit. Kids may bring blankets and a stuffed animal,
and they may wear their pajamas to school (or change into them).
