Dear Special Adults of First Grade,

Last week we finished a reading unit and so we had an assessment and did a special art project called Outside My Window to go along with the theme, Outside My Door.  Today we are going to do some writing to go with the art and it will be displayed in the windows opposite the library.

Please read over the form coming home about IXL Math.  Through a grant we are able to access this internet program that allows students to work at their own pace on various math concepts and at various levels.  It is a neat tool and one that can be accessed at home. 

This week we are also starting an Artist in Residence program.  We will be working with an artist to learn about drumming and dancing from Latin America two times a week for the month of February.

The website now has a special projects page with our first podcast about our Mt. Pisgah field trip.  Check it out!

Toys have been coming to school and causing problems at recess and in the class.  Please remind your students to LEAVE TOYS AT HOME!!!
