— Click on the flyer for your region(above). This flyer is optional for P.E. teachers. It is used by teachers as a way to get students to think about events they want to enter before the meet. If students want to change their minds at the meet, we usually leave that option open to the students, especially with fourth grade, since it is their first meet. However, feel free to edit and use it as you see fit at your school.
A Message to Teachers of 4th/5th Grade students participating in our meets:
— Meet set-up will begin as early as 7:00 am at some locations. Reminder to take lunch breaks in shifts: 10:45 11-15 11:15 - 11:45.
— The only school that has said they can't come is Crest Drive, which will not bring their 5th grade. The 4th grade meet is scheduled to begin at 9:15 and the 5th grade meet begins at 11:30.
— There are typically 250-500 students participating at each of the eight meets. We have all the elementary Physical Education Specialists from the region running the meet (this year we will have considerable help from Hershey Track and Field Games).
— If there are any students from the track team at your school that are able to help out at either time.... please let us as soon as possible. Kim McManus kimberly.k.mcmanus@ci.eugene.or.us (from the City of Eugene and Hershey) is assisting in coordinating. We would love to have more volunteers.... and the track team members would be great role models. (If you know of anyone else able to volunteer at any of the events, please let us know.)
— We should be finished with each meet by 1:30 and have the track area cleaned up by 2:45.

Teachers, The following information is in the student flyer that you can download (above).

Each student will earn a 1st 6th place ribbon at each heat/event.

South region elementary schools will participate.

Students are encouraged to participate in two running, two field events, and the relay.

A maximum of 5 events and 5 ribbons may be earned, including the relay.

The relay teams are separate races for girls and boys. If you want to do the relay, check it even if you don't have a team. You can put a team together at the meet.

Leave school and arrive by 9:15 AM

The Fourth
Grade Track meet begins about 9:15

will end at 11:30

Sudents
will be back in time to eat lunch at school
