Located in Portland, Oregon this is an excellent field trip location offering students the opportunity to see animals such as giraffes, polar bears, primates, snakes, and many others. Located in Newport, Oregon The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a world-class marine educational attraction. The Aquarium is a living classroom for all learning styles and ages to explore jelly fish, sea otters, and even sharks! Exhibits range from those you can touch and hear to those you can see and explore. Located in Portland, Oregon that is is a scientific, educational, and cultural resource center. OMSI combines science and discovery through exciting and relevant exhibits, programs, and experiences that are presented in an entertaining and participatory fashion. Their core values are Learning, Creativity, and Integrity. Lane County's fascinating children's science museum featuring state-of-the-art exhibits, the Pacific Northwest's second largest planetarium, and hands-on activities students and adults. A field trip to the Science Factory is close, convenient, hands-on, and aligns with Oregon State Standards.

The Wildlife Safari http://www.wildlifesafari.net/

Located in Winston, Oregon students can see bears, elephants, and giraffes graze, run, and sleep out in their natural and free state. At the hatchery: Willamette Hatchery has outside visitor information kiosks. Ponds offer viewing of large trout and white sturgeon. A viewing area of upland game birds is available with a museum, interpretive center and picnic area. Adult salmon are on hand June - September. There also is a nine-hole miniature golf course depicting the salmon life cycle. Call to make advance arrangements.

OSU

Take a general tour of the University in Corvallis.  This field trip was sparked by the idea to see some or all of their science departments.  I would like it to lead to seeing their dead animal collection or the engineering building.

McDonald Forest is part of an OSU program where student can hike and participate in other conservation activities ran by the university.

Any fish hatchery would be a great field trip for students to learn about the Salmon run and standards such as offspring and parents.
